Jairam is responsible for the debt trap, left behind a debt of 85 thousand crores: Sukhu
On the last day of election campaign, the Congress party, in a show of strength, organized huge public meetings in Haripur, Khabli and Dhaliara under Dehra assembly constituency, in which Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu participated.
The Chief Minister said that the Dehra election is a fight for the honour of Dehra and the people will teach a lesson to former MLA Hoshiar Singh. He said that elect Congress candidate Kamlesh Thakur and get a Chief Minister along with an MLA. He said that the next state level programme of Independence Day will be celebrated in Dehra and before this programme, the problems of Pong Dam displaced people will be resolved. He said that the former MLA did not sit on a dharna for any problem of Dehra in six and a half years, but to get his resignation accepted, he sat on a dharna outside the Vidhan Sabha and also went to the court because he conspired with the BJP to topple an elected government, which failed.
He said that this time Hoshiar Singh’s cleverness will not work and he will not be able to mislead the people of Dehra by lying. For six years he failed to develop his area. He is constructing a road worth one crore for his five star resort from the MLA fund meant for the development of the area. By misusing government funds, culverts are being installed for the resort, while the condition of the roads of Dehra is bad. Hoshiar Singh is not worried about the people of Dehra, but about his resort.
The Chief Minister said that the people of the state have rejected the politics of money power and increased the number of Congress MLAs from 34 to 38. Now the number of Congress MLAs is going to increase by three more and on July 13, the number of Congress MLAs will become 41. He said that the people of Dehra, Nalagarh and Hamirpur will choose development and Hoshiar Singh’s money will be of no use. The former MLA has sold himself in the political market of BJP and has betrayed the people of Dehra. He said that in the fight for the honour of Dehra, honest workers of BJP will also support Congress candidate Kamlesh Thakur and show Hoshiar Singh his place. He said that Jairam Thakur is daydreaming and his desire to become the Chief Minister will never be fulfilled. To deceive the people, he is repeatedly making false claims of formation of BJP government and now the people are also making fun of him.
Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur and BJP are responsible for ruining Himachal Pradesh financially. Congress government inherited a debt of Rs 85 thousand crore from BJP government. Today the condition of the state is such that loans have to be taken even to pay the interest on the loan. But Congress government took strict steps to improve the economic condition of the state, due to which the economy of the state has improved by 20 percent in one year and the state government has received additional revenue of Rs 2200 crore. Schemes are being made for the common man from this revenue.
The Chief Minister said that the Congress government secured the future of 1.36 lakh employees by giving them old pension. The diet money of police personnel was increased five times to one thousand rupees. Women were given a pension of 1500 rupees per month, to stop which Jairam Thakur went to the Election Commission. 4000 orphan children were adopted as Children of the State. The Congress government is providing free treatment up to Rs 25 lakh to the elderly above 70 years of age. Along with financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh to widows for building houses, the state government is also bearing the expenses of higher education of their children up to 27 years. He said that under the Dr. YS Parmar Student Loan Scheme of the state government, a loan of Rs 20 lakh is being made available to poor students for higher education at the rate of one percent interest. Along with this, cow milk is being purchased at the rate of 45 rupees and buffalo milk at the rate of 55 rupees per liter and wheat produced through natural farming will be purchased at the rate of 40 rupees and maize at the rate of 30 rupees per kg. The Congress government is making schemes for the people associated with the villages.
He said that after the election code of conduct ends, the Superintendent of Police office as well as SE (PWD) office will be opened in Dehra. Apart from this, an international level zoo is being built at a cost of Rs 650 crore, which will provide employment to 2000 local youths and bring economic prosperity to the area.
BJP suffered a major setback
In Haripur, Pradhan Mathura Das of Gram Panchayat Bhated Basa, former Pradhan Praveen Kumar Pinka of Haripur, member from ward four Vivek Kumar, member from ward six Sunil Kumar, member from ward five Bimla Devi, Anjana Saroch, along with their supporters left BJP and joined Congress. The Chief Minister welcomed everyone by putting a Congress sash on them and said that they will be given due respect in the party. Expressing faith in the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, everyone said that only the Congress party can solve the problems of Dehra assembly constituency. That is why they have joined the Congress party today.
