Jai Ram expresses concern over the non-payment of companies by the Health Department
Opposition BJP has accused the rule Congress for remaining fail to disburse the due payments of various private firms engaged by the Health department leading to a state of emergency in the state health services.
In a press statement issued here today former Chief Minister pointed out that various companies that are supplying life-saving medicine and Janushadi could not be paid by the state health services and various other firms are moving from post to pillar to have their due clear by the state health authorities.
Many private firms assisted the state to extend the health services in the state hospital however they were forced to give an ultimatum to the state that if their dues were not cleared without any delay they would stop work and supply in want of outstanding bills which are not paid.
Accusing the Congress rule of failing to address the prevailing problems of the private companies opposition leader said that the health department is itself in the state of ICU as no one is taking care of it.
Mr Thakur said that many firms have already stopped their services with the government hospitals and most others have issued warnings to snap the supply.
” Dialysis services in Kullu Regional Hospital have already become the causality of state negligence as the service provider showed their inability to continue it without clearing the dues.
BJP accuses the Congress that Government negligence has forced the people into their lives or forced them to take the services in private health institutions.
Life-saving drugs including Janoshdi are not available in the state’s major hospitals or could not be supplied in time as the bills of many firms are not cleared by the major premier state health institutions.
Given the strict vigil of supply of such drugs and the advancement of GST, many pharma companies and bulk suppliers have to remit the GST from their own pocket as the payments of many firms cannot be made.
Questioning the ailing health system of the Government Mr Thakur said that instead of offering free treatment, poor people were being deprived of due benefits as they are spending thousands of rupees from their own pockets every week.
The empaneled hospitals are not being paid for treatment under Himcare. The companies providing medical goods under Himcare are not being paid.
Accusing the Congress in opposition for making hue and cry for the state of affairs during the Covid pandemic Mr Thakur said that the Congress could not able to supply the essential equipment needed for the surgery and many oxygen plants established by the previous government to supply uninterrupted oxygen in the state are either closed or state of negligence.
LOP also met the Himachal Guv Shiv Pratap Shukla at Rajbhavan to apprise him about the current state of health services.
