BJP Himachal Pradesh in-charge and former Rajya Sabha MP Avinash Rai Khanna said that going back on promises has been an old habit of the Congress. The Congress government, which came to power in Himachal by making attractive promises, is now looking for a way to live up to those promises. The people of Punjab, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh have also been the victims of this kind of Congress’s breach of promise. Taking a jibe at former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, he said that he used to count the days of fulfillment of promises on his fingers in election meetings, but now it seems he has forgotten to count. He used to talk a lot about the loan waiver of the farmers and all the farmers have been ruined by coming under the guise of his loan waiver promise. Today the Congress governments have proved to be a failure in fulfilling the promises made to the public. In Himachal too, instead of giving relief to the people, the Congress government has started giving trouble.
In a statement, Khanna said that the Congress had given 10 guarantees to the public in Himachal, which mainly included providing employment and Rs.1,500 per month to women. Now the government is not even talking about these promises, due to which the youth and women have started getting disenchanted with the Congress government. In fact, Congress has never been concerned with the interests of the people. On the contrary, the BJP government had provided facilities to the people while safeguarding their interests in true sense. Referring to women’s pension, he said that the Congress government used to give pension to 80-year-old women. To get this, women had to roll many papads at the age of 80. On the contrary, the BJP government not only reduced the age limit for women pension to 60 years but also reduced the formalities to get it. The BJP government had started the Him Care scheme to facilitate the people for treatment of diseases, which proved to be a boon for the people of the state. The then Jairam government of BJP had also made a record of providing gas cylinders, housing and tap water to 100 percent people of Himachal Pradesh. This tells the brilliant functioning and intention of the BJP government.
He said that the Congress has formed the government by misleading the people with election promises, but now they are struggling to fulfill these promises. That’s why when it comes to election promises, she tries to get rid of them. This is the government formed with the least margin in the state. He said that the Congress forms the government only for the chair, that’s why there was a lot of tussle between the Congressmen for the post of the Chief Minister as soon as they got the majority in Himachal. Even now the situation is that instead of working towards fulfilling the promises made to the public, the Congress is still busy in managing its house. On the other hand, people are waiting for the government’s announcement to fulfill the promises. On the contrary, the Central Government has assured all possible help for the development of Himachal. The state in-charge said that harassing the public is also a habit of the Congress, that’s why the present government has closed all the offices like SDM, Tehsildar as soon as it came to power, due to which the people are facing a lot of trouble. Within a few days, the Congress has shown the stars to the public.
