Instead of linking tourism to the livelihood of Himachalis, Congress is setting up market for Himachal on sale: Sudhir Sharma

Senior BJP leader and MLA Sudhir Sharma said in a press statement that instead of linking tourism in Himachal Pradesh with the livelihood of local people, the Congress government has started setting up a market for Himachal on sale. Earlier this market was set up in Dubai and a plan was made to give the valuable land of Palampur to private hands. But when there was protest, this matter stopped for a while. Now again Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has set up this market in a big hotel in Chandigarh along with the Chairman of the Tourism Department and an army of officials. He said that by taking a loan from the Asian Development Bank, the government is going to build big hotels in the state. The government is preparing to hand over these hotels to its favourites on long-term basis at minimal prices. Whereas ADB has not even signed the loan agreement with the state government yet.

Sudhir Sharma said that this government of friends is preparing to hand over everything to its favourites at throwaway prices. Are the unemployed youth of Himachal not worthy of such generous schemes of the government? Why does the government not create small tourism units and give them on long term lease to the unemployed of the state? He said that the Tourism Development Corporation of Himachal is running at a loss of about 140 crores and the government is going to build new hotels of the corporation. On which the state government is spending its own money. On the other hand, the government is preparing to build big hotels by taking loans from ADB and giving them to its favourite people in the private sector. There is a smell of a big scam in this. Which will be revealed soon.

The senior BJP leader said that the government wants to build a club in the building where the offices of a total of 6 departments including ADB are running. While the government has already made preparations to shift all the offices running there to the private buildings of Mitra Mandali. There is also an attempt to pay more than 20 lakh rupees rent to Mitra Mandali every month from the government treasury. Sudhir Sharma said that the BJP will not only oppose the attempt being made by the Sukhu government to sell Himachal, but a big movement will be launched along with the unemployed of the state.
