Indian languages are the soul of our culture : Dr. G.L. Patidar
A one-day National Seminar on the topic “Indian Knowledge Tradition and Indian Languages” was organized under the joint aegis of the Sanskrit Department, Government College, Karsog and the Vaishvik Sanskrit Manch, Himachal Pradesh.
The chief guest, Dr. G.L. Patidar, Associate Fellow, Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Rashtrapati Niwas, Shimla and Chairman, Vaishvik Sanskrit Manch, Himachal Pradesh, said that Indian languages are the soul of our culture and preserving these languages is our moral responsibility. He stated that India resides in the diversity of its languages, and therefore, such events and seminars are extremely necessary today.
The program coordinator, Dr. Rippon Kumar, Secretary of the Vaishvik Sanskrit Manch, Himachal Pradesh, commenced the seminar with the Mangalacharan (invocation ceremony), welcome of the guests, and an introduction to the theme.
As the keynote speaker, Prof. Om Prakash Sharma, speaking on the origin and emergence of Indian languages, stated that all languages originate from the Sanskrit language.
Another keynote speaker, Prof. S. Ranganath, described the Indian knowledge tradition as the foundation of civilization and culture, and stated that India’s knowledge tradition is the most ancient and rich.
As a guest speaker, Dr. Kamal Jeet Singh shed light on the contribution of Sri Guru Granth Sahib to the Indian knowledge tradition.
Dr. Rajesh Kumar Mishra, General Secretary of the Vaishvik Sanskrit Manch, was also present.
The Principal of the college, Dr. Jagjeet Singh Patial, who presided over the function, described the knowledge tradition as our heritage and emphasized the usefulness of the seminar. He thanked all the scholars, researchers, and students present for the successful organization.
