In my two-day election tour of Himachal, we will be able to meet the parameters of development only if the roads are good. Today, the country is seeing more than three times the number of people in Chardham, the reason for this is only the world-class highways worth Rs 12,000 crores built under the Chardham project, due to which pilgrimage and tourism have got a boost. Good roads, health, education, employment, clean water are some of the basics of development on which our government has been working for the last 10 years. Today our government has connected the country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari through world-class roads, due to which the resources of the citizens of the country are being saved. Also, the most important role in the development of any nation depends on the roads of that country. Today our government has presented ideas like Green Highway, Green Corridor to the nation in this development journey. Today, the citizens of the country can travel anywhere in the country through access controlled roads. In Himachal also, big projects like highways, ropeways and cable cars are being built on a large scale. The Bharatiya Janata Party government wants to make the people of Himachal prosperous and rich and wants to provide good roads to Himachal Pradesh. We want to provide good means of income to the citizens of Himachal and want to promote the tourism sector and all this is possible only with the power of your vote.
Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is the gift of BJP and out of 6.50 lakh villages of the country, 4.50 lakh villages were connected with this scheme. In Himachal also, out of 45,000 km, 20,000 km roads were built under EC scheme. Today, work worth 1 lakh crore is going on in Himachal. We also connected Himachal with big schemes like Kishau Dam, Renukaji Dam and Lakhwar Dam and also tried to end the ongoing conflicts with other states. Today, the farmers of the country are producing biofuel worth 16 lakh crores. The farmer is not only becoming a food provider but also an energy provider and a fuel provider. Today, the direction of the country is changing with electronic vehicles. The work of making CNG from stubble in Punjab and Haryana is being done abroad.
He said that the aim of our Government is to serve the poor. Today, the country is moving ahead in the direction of e-rickshaws by eliminating hand-pulled rickshaws and we gave the idea of electric tractors and vehicles run on ethanol fuel to the country. Today, nearly 1.5 crore e-rickshaws are plying in the country. This is our sentiment, this is our idea. In 10 years, we have built tunnels, roads, highways, airports, airports, through which we have tried to take the country forward at a fast pace and provide world-class facilities to the country. The development that the country has seen till now was just a trailer, the movie of which is yet to come. India will certainly become a Vishwa Guru (world leader) and this is possible only by connecting the people who have been left behind with the mainstream of development. I would like to tell the Congress people that we have built as many roads and highways in this country as were not built in 60 years.
