In Gram Sabha meeting, a resolution was taken to make Himachal Chitta free
To achieve a chit-free Himachal, a special Gram Sabha meeting was held in the Junga Gram Panchayat auditorium. It was chaired by Pradhan Basni Lal Kashyap. On this occasion, the Pradhan administered an oath to the people present in the Gram Sabha to make Himachal chit-free.
In the meeting, Dr. Manoj Verma, medical officer at Junga Civil Hospital, detailed the harmful effects of chitta. He stated that chitta is a substance derived from opium, and excessive consumption of it has ruined many young people’s precious lives. He explained that chitta consumption is extremely harmful to the human body, causing fatigue, dizziness, nausea, irritability, headaches, and tremors. Young people initially consume it as a hobby, but later become addicted to chitta, even selling their mother’s jewelry to satisfy their addiction.
Principal Bansi Lal Kashyap said that drug trafficking gangs are active around educational institutions, initially offering free chitta to children, who later become addicted. He advised keeping a close watch on such gangs. He urged parents to monitor their children’s activities so that they do not become victims of drug addiction and ruin their lives.
On this occasion, Police Outpost Incharge Amar Nath Thakur stated that strict action is being taken against those involved in the smuggling of chitta. He added that no chitta cases have yet been reported in Junga Tehsil.
