IMD sounds Yellow Alert in Himachal – Rain and Snow likely from Nov 9 onward
Indian Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert with effect from November 9 up to 11 in a few places of Himachal Pradesh forecasting another spell of snowfall on the highreach and rainfall in the downstream areas.
According to the weather bulletin announced by the IMD Western Disturbance (WD) is becoming active in Himachal Pradesh from tomorrow onwards.
WDs may create a probability of rain and snowfall in the mountains as inclement weather conditions may extend for the next four days starting from November 8, the weather would be bad only in some places. But, on November 9 and 11, a yellow alert has been given for rain and snowfall in many areas of the state. On Friday there is the probability of rain and snowfall in a few places in the state.
According to the Meteorological Center Shimla, there may be snowfall on the higher peaks of Lahaul Spiti, Chamba, Mandi, Shimla, Kullu, and Kinnaur districts.
