IGMC team reviewed the TB eradication campaign
Under the 100-day campaign being run across the country for the elimination of TB, 108 percent success has been achieved in Mashobra block and the matter has been sent to the government to declare 17 panchayats of this block as TB free. This information was given by Anmol Raj Kaundal, senior officer of TB free campaign of IGMC, after inspecting the works done under the TB free campaign in villages Dhali Bagda, Trahai, Nalta and Peeran of Peeran, the last Panchayat of Mashobra block. On this occasion, screening of senior citizens above 60 years was also done.
He told that a 100-day campaign has been started by the Government of India on 7 December which will be completed on 24 December. Koondel told that all senior citizens above the age of 60 should get tested for TB disease every three months. Free treatment facility is available in all health centers for the treatment of TB. Apart from this, patients of kidney, cancer, sugar etc. should also get tested for TB disease from time to time. He told that last year 299 TB symptoms were found in Kasampati constituency, who have become healthy after treatment.
Koondel said that if a person is suffering from cough for more than two weeks, fever or weight loss, blood in sputum, sweating etc. then such a person should get himself examined in the nearest health institution. CBnot machine is available in IGMC and DDU for examination of TB disease.
Women health workers Reena Verma and Vandana Kapoor also administered life saving vaccines to children aged 0 to 5 years and pregnant women at Anganwadi centres Dhali Bagda, Trahai, Nalta and Peeran. On this occasion, ASHA workers Bela Verma, Sumna Devi and workers of other Anganwadi centres were present.
