IGMC ENT team organised audiometry camp in Junga

To address the growing deafness among people, the mobile audiometry team of the ENT department of IGMC Shimla organized a camp at the Civil Hospital. Hearing tests were conducted on 63 people (senior citizens and others) at the camp, of which 17 were found to be deaf. Dr. Manoj Verma, medical officer at Civil Hospital Junga, stated that those who showed signs of deafness during the examination would be called to IGMC Shimla for a thorough examination and, if necessary, provided with hearing aids.
He explained that due to excessive mobile phone use and various other factors, many people are currently experiencing deafness, which is not healthy. He advised people to minimize headphone use and avoid prolonged mobile phone conversations.
He said that the audiometry team of IGMC included technician Ranjani Sharma and assistant technician Ambika who conducted hearing tests of the people.
Other doctors and paramedical staff of the Civil Hospital were present on this occasion.
