If MLAs or MPs are eligible for OPS why not  employee :CPI(M) 

 If Members of Assembly and Parliament become eligible for Old Pension System just after taking oath, why couldn’t employees after serving for 40 years. This was stated by the CPI(M) candidate from Kasumpti Assembly Constituency Dr Kuldeep Singh Tanwar in  a press conference here today. Targeting ruling Congress on the issue of employees he said that  that it is due to neo-liberal policies, of Congress governments that deprived Employees of OPSM  He said that social security is being gradually withdrawan by the public sector undertakings as successive governments opted for  privatization and out sourcing of Goverment Service sector. Dr. Tanwar said that in the 80-90s, when they raised the issues of employees and officers, the governments used to listen carefully to the demands of the employees’ unions and also find solutions to them.  But today the governments are not even ready to listen to the employees’ unions.  For months, the employees sit on a hunger strike for their demands, but the governments hardly pay attention to consider their demands. Dr Tanwar said that politician especially of rulling BJP became ruthless towards Employees as during last five years Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur had been challenged Employees to contest elections if they want OPS.  He appealed  the employees’ organizations to united  together to fight the legal battle.He said that nothing could achieved without making unity on the issue of  OPS or regular policy for outsource, contract, part time, scheme worker.  He said that during his tenure, he would try harder to support the cause of employees and officers.

Dr. Tanwar said that  Forestry Commission should be continue to probe the  government decision to change the Khair policy. The CPI(M) candidate said that apart from alcohol, synthetic intoxicants are also gaining momentum in the elections.  This is very worrying.  He said that liquor or synthetic drugs being given patternage by Congress candidate in Shimla and Kasumpti. He said that  recently huge catchy of Chitta is siezed  in Naldehra.  Urging the voters to save their children from such onslaught as it may become  serious challenge  to their future. He questioned the ruling BJP for being soft with big drug peddlers . Govt could not stop the mence as  little efforts are being made to check the drug trafficking in the state and those who are using such drugs with small quantity are being arrested . Speaking on this occasion Corporate sectors Employees leader said that  political parties are making big promises to the employees at the time of elections but soon after getting power they took opposite stand.  Cautioning not come under any allurement on OPS Chitranta said that BJP has repeatedly broken the promises made to the corporate sector Employees.  BJP has been put pension scheme for corporate Employees on its manifestos of 2007 and 2017.  But no  declarations as government documents but  pension scheme remained confined to document for corporate employees.  He said that Employees of public sector waged legal battle on the pension schem and won their legal battle in the court however it was last Congress government which went to the Supreme Court against this decision.

Govind Chitaranta said that no party other than CPI(M) could fight honestly on OPS and other employees issue and they should strength the left candidate.  A clear example of this is MLA Rakesh Singha who raised every issues of this section in the assembly and Employees and public  should send more such strong team of party in the assembly.
