Himachals’ Amol Garg to Soar the Skies with Rafale on Republic Day

Amol Garg from Himachal Pradesh’s Una district is all set to make his hometown and state proud as he pilots the world’s fastest fighter jet, Rafale. This extraordinary achievement is a moment of immense pride for Una and the entire Himachal Pradesh. On January 26, during the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path in Delhi, Amol will take to the skies with this iconic French fighter jet, which is considered a symbol of strength for the Indian Air Force.

Amol grew up in Durga Colony, Una. His father, Jagdeep Sharma, a former Navy officer, now works as an engineer with ONGC, while his mother, Sneha Sharma, is a homemaker. His younger brother is currently pursuing an MD at Tata Memorial Hospital, adding another layer of accomplishment to the family.

A Journey of Determination and Excellence

After completing his Class 12 education at DAV Centenary Public School, Una, Amol began studying engineering at NIT Hamirpur. However, his dream of serving the nation drove him to take a bold step—he left engineering and joined the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune. Amol’s dedication and perseverance paid off when he secured the third rank in the UPSC NDA exam nationwide. Not stopping there, he also emerged as the top-ranked cadet in the Air Force.

Currently stationed at the Indian Air Force’s Ambala base, Amol’s journey is a testament to his hard work and commitment. His achievement inspires countless young aspirants, proving that with determination and focus, no dream is too big. As he pilots the Rafale on Republic Day, Amol Garg not only honors his family and hometown but also brings glory to Himachal Pradesh on a national stage.
