Himachal Weather Update: Rain and Snowfall Expected Soon

Yesterday, Himachal Pradesh experienced light rain and snowfall in a few areas, leading to a drop in minimum temperatures by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. However, the Shimla Meteorological Department has forecasted clear weather for today. Starting February 18, the weather is expected to change again.

Rain and Snowfall Forecast

According to the Shimla Meteorological Department, a western disturbance is set to become active in the region. As a result, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the higher areas of the state on February 18. On February 19 and 20, rain and snowfall are expected in the higher and middle mountainous regions, while the lower and plain areas may experience rain. Additionally, on February 21, rain and snowfall are likely in the higher mountainous areas, and on February 22, in the higher and middle mountainous regions. The department also predicts thunderstorms and lightning in some areas on February 19 and 20.

Minimum Temperatures in Himachal Pradesh

Four cities in the state recorded minimum temperatures below zero. Tabo was the coldest at -6.8 degrees Celsius, followed by Keylong at -6.1, Kukumseri at -3.2, and Kalpa at -1.6 degrees Celsius. Other recorded minimum temperatures include Shimla at 5.6, Sundernagar at 6.2, Bhuntar at 4.4, Dharamshala at 5.5, Una at 4.7, Nahan at 9.5, Palampur at 5.5, Solan at 4.2, Manali at 2.6, Kangra at 7.0, Mandi at 7.1, Bilaspur at 5.8, Chamba at 6.0, Jubbarhatti at 7.8, Bharmour at 3.3, Seobagh at 3.0, Dhaulakuan at 7.7, Berthin at 5.1, Paonta Sahib at 9.0, Sarahan at 5.6, and Dehra Gopipur at 11.0 degrees Celsius.

Maximum Temperatures in Himachal Pradesh

Una was the warmest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 26.4 degrees Celsius. Other maximum temperatures recorded were Shimla at 12.8, Sundernagar at 20.2, Bhuntar at 20.4, Kalpa at 9.4, Dharamshala at 19.0, Nahan at 20.0, Keylong at 3.1, Solan at 17.5, Manali at 11.5, Kangra at 21.3, Mandi at 20.8, Bilaspur at 22.0, Chamba at 20.9, Jubbarhatti at 16.4, Bharmour at 12.6, Seobagh at 14.2, Dhaulakuan at 24.7, Berthin at 21.5, and Tabo at 14.5 degrees Celsius.
