Himachal State Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section organizes ‘Deepawali Milan’ program

Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section organized a “Deepawali Milan” program here today. Lady Governor Janaki Shukla, also the chairperson of the Hospital Welfare Section, presided over the program.

The program was organized with the objective of promoting women’s empowerment. With an aim of ‘Vocal for Local’, seven stalls containing products manufactured by Self-Help Groups, were set up for sale at the occasion. Hand-made food items and artificial jewelry were the main attractions among the stalls. Cultural activities and various sports competitions were also organized at the occasion and the winners were also rewarded.

The programme was coordinated by Honorary Secretary, the Hospital Welfare Branch, Dr. Kimi Sood.

Former members of National Red Cross Management Committee Dr. Sadhna Thakur, Vimla Kashyap, Anila Kashyap, Jhumpa Jamwal, Anila Kashyap, and Taruna Mishra were present on the occasion amongst others
