Himachal Rugby Association successfully organised the state level selection trials

The Himachal Pradesh Rugby Association successfully organised the state level selection competition (trial) for the Under-18 boys and girls category at the historic Chaura ground in Shimla on Saturday.

Players from Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan, Kullu, Hamirpur, and Mandi districts enthusiastically participated in the selection trials. A total of 68 players, including 24 girls and 44 boys, displayed their talent and athletic skills.

The selection process was conducted in a fair and transparent manner in the presence of Himachal Pradesh Rugby Association President Dr. Vikas Sood, General Secretary Vishal Sarin, Treasurer Sudhir Rajput, Sunil, Anisha and other officials and selectors.

The officials of the association informed that the selected players will represent Himachal Pradesh in the National Under-18 Rugby Championship to be held in Hyderabad from July 5 to July 10, 2026.

Keeping in view the preparations for the national competition, a state level training camp for the selected players will be organized from June 30, 2026 at Paonta Sahib (District Sirmaur), in which the presence of all the selected players will be mandatory.

Himachal Pradesh Rugby Association expressed special gratitude to SJVN for the successful organization of this selection competition, which provided important support in providing better opportunities to the players by sponsoring this event.

In the end, the association extended its heartiest wishes to all the selected players and expressed confidence that they would make the name of Himachal Pradesh proud across the country by performing excellently in the national competition.
