Himachal Pradesh Tourism Looks to Expand in Maharashtra at OTM Mumbai
The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) took part in the Outbound Tourism Mart (OTM) in Mumbai, one of India’s largest travel trade exhibitions, with a delegation led by Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Managing Director of HPTDC. The team also included Dr. Anil Kumar (DGM, HPTDC), Mr. Ravinder Sandhu (AGM, Holiday Home), Mr. Varun Dhiman (AGM, HPTDC), Mr. Vikram Chauhan (TIO, Department of Tourism, HP), and Mr. Mahender Chauhan (Himachal Bhawan, Chandigarh).
Maharashtra was highlighted as a key source market for Himachal tourism, and the event attracted significant participation from travel partners in Mumbai and Pune. Key discussions revolved around promoting HPTDC’s hotels, offering commission-based incentives for agents, and presenting specially curated tour packages. Adventure tourism, including activities like trekking, rafting, paragliding, and skiing, was also emphasized.
To streamline communication and foster collaboration, a WhatsApp group was created, allowing for quick exchanges of information and trade ideas. New tour circuits were also proposed, such as Delhi/Chandigarh – Shimla – Kullu – Manali – Chandigarh and Delhi/Chandigarh – Dharamshala – Dalhousie – Chandigarh.
Dr. Rajiv Kumar assured all partners that the suggestions made would be thoroughly evaluated, underlining HPTDC’s ongoing commitment to strengthening industry partnerships and enhancing customer satisfaction.
