Himachal Pradesh Boosts Rural Economy with New Wheat Procurement Plan

In a bid to uplift the rural economy and ensure farmers receive fair prices for their produce, Himachal Pradesh has periodically increased the purchase prices of agricultural products. This initiative aims to put more money in the pockets of rural residents, thereby improving their economic and social living standards. This year, the state government has set the minimum support price (MSP) for wheat at ₹2425 per quintal.

Wheat Procurement Begins Today

Starting today, wheat procurement will kick off at 11 centers across Himachal Pradesh. The registration process for farmers is already underway, with 251 farmers registered on the department’s portal to sell their wheat crop. Out of these, 162 registrations have been verified, and 65 tokens have been generated for selling wheat. The Himachal Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation will handle the procurement from farmers.
