Thousands of aspiring candidates in Himachal Pradesh will soon have an opportunity to join the state police force, as the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has announced recruitment for 734 Police Constable posts. The vacancies include 491 posts for male candidates and 243 posts for female candidates, offering a major employment opportunity for the state’s youth.
According to the notification issued by the Commission, the online application process will start at 12:01 am on July 10 and continue until 11:59 pm on August 6. Interested candidates must apply exclusively through the official HPPSC website, as no applications submitted through any other mode will be accepted.
Candidates Urged to Submit Forms Carefully
HPPSC has advised applicants to exercise caution while filling out their online forms. Once an application is submitted, candidates will not be allowed to make any corrections or modifications.
The Commission has also asked those seeking assistance from Cyber Cafés or Lok Mitra Kendras to personally check every detail entered in the application form before final submission to avoid mistakes that could affect their candidature.
Vacancies Distributed Across Categories
The recruitment drive covers various categories under the state’s reservation policy, including Unreserved (UR), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Home Guards, BPL candidates, Wards of Freedom Fighters (WFF), and Dependents of Ex-Servicemen.
Among the 491 male constable posts, the largest share—140 vacancies—has been earmarked for the Unreserved category, while the remaining positions have been distributed among reserved categories as per government norms.
Similarly, the 243 female constable vacancies have been allocated across different reservation categories, ensuring representation for eligible candidates from diverse backgrounds.
Don’t Wait Until the Last Minute
HPPSC has encouraged applicants to complete the registration process well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues or website traffic.
The recruitment campaign is expected to strengthen the manpower of the Himachal Pradesh Police while creating significant career opportunities for young men and women eager to serve the state. Candidates are advised to carefully read the official notification, verify their eligibility, and follow all instructions before submitting their applications.
