Himachal Govt tabled bill bring recruitment of MC in the state level services 

The Himachal Pradesh Government today tabled in the state assembly to amend the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Services Act, 1994 to bring the posts of Municipal Corporation Shimla, Dharmshala, Solan, and Palampur into the state-level services.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu who holds the portfolio of finance tabled the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Services amendment Bill 2023 to replace the ordinance HP MS (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023  promulgated by the Governor on August 17, 2023

CM said that there was only one Municipal Corporation in the State therefore the posts of Municipal Corporation were not included in the State level services and only the posts of Municipal Councils and the Nagar Panchayats were made the State Cadre.  

Now, four new Municipal Corporations have been constituted at Dharamshala, Solan, Mandi and Palampur.  Therefore, the posts of the Municipal Corporations are also required to be included in the State level services. 

The bill may come for discussion and passing in a house in the next three days of the Monsoon session.
