Himachal Day celebrated with pomp and show in Chiyog School

Himachal Day was celebrated with great pomp in Government Senior Secondary School Chiyog on Friday. The event was presided over by Principal Sandeep Sharma. On this occasion, children danced to patriotic songs and Pahadi Naat. Apart from this, speech and painting competitions were organized on this occasion. It may be noted that due to the holiday for the next four days, the Education Department had issued instructions to celebrate Himachal Day in educational institutions on April 11.
In his address, the Principal while extending his greetings on Himachal Diwas said that Himachal Pradesh came into existence in the year 1948 as a result of the merger of 30 princely states. At that time the literacy rate of the state was only 8 percent which has now increased to more than 84 percent. When the state came into existence, the number of educational institutions in the state was only 547 which has now increased to about 16 thousand. He said that at present there has been a lot of progress in the state and the life of the people has become comfortable. On this occasion all the members of the school management committee and all the employees and students of the school participated.
