Himachal Congress, Left Leaders Join Massive Opposition Rally in Delhi
A strong contingent of Congress and Left leaders from Himachal Pradesh joined thousands of protesters in New Delhi on Sunday, marching towards Ramlila Maidan in a major show of opposition strength against the Narendra Modi-led Central Government.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu shared a photograph from the rally in which he was seen travelling in an open vehicle alongside Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Kerala opposition leader V.D. Satheesan. The leaders waved to supporters as large crowds gathered along the streets of Old Delhi, reflecting the scale and enthusiasm surrounding the mobilisation.
Fatehpur Congress MLA Bhawani Pathania also shared a live video showing crowds near Minto Road. Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pathania recited ‘Aakhir Tumhe Jaana Hai’, expressing confidence that the growing opposition campaign would put pressure on the Central Government.
The Left also registered a significant presence at the protest. CPI(M) leader Sanjay Chauhan led hundreds of party activists towards Ramlila Maidan, where they raised slogans against the Modi government.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh and Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil were among other prominent Himachal leaders who joined the protest.
By 2 pm, more groups and political leaders were still heading towards the venue, while thousands of people had already gathered at Ramlila Maidan. The crowd included representatives of different political parties, organisations, civil society groups and people without formal political affiliations.
With leaders and supporters from different political backgrounds coming together, the rally turned Ramlila Maidan into a major centre of opposition mobilisation against the Central Government.
