Himachal Congress leaders remembered Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary
In a program organized at the state Congress headquarters Rajiv Bhawan, Shimla Municipal Corporation Mayor Surendra Chauhan said that the grateful nation will always be indebted to him. He even sacrificed his life for the unity and integrity of the country. He said that as the Prime Minister, he made the country respect him. He had a special attachment with Himachal Pradesh and it was because of him that the state got the status of a full state.
Former MLA Adarsh Sood said during this time that today we all need to follow the path shown by Indira Gandhi. He said that everyone will have to unite against the forces promoting communalism in the country.
Addressing the gathering, State Women Congress President Zainab Chandel said that Indira Gandhi, known as the Iron Lady, was a great leader. She said that her excellent work as Prime Minister is still playing an important role in the reconstruction of the country. She made India’s strength recognized in other countries in foreign policy. Indira Gandhi will always be the source of inspiration for the country.
