Himachal BJP’s new slogan, hit the interests of the state: Awasthi

Congress MLA from Arki Sanjay Awasthi has said in a statement issued from Shimla today that BJP is an anti-Himachal Pradesh party. Earlier the slogan of BJP was, Statehood Maaro Thud and now their new slogan is Pradesh Ke Hitaon Ko Maaro Thud. He said that the leaders of Himachal Pradesh BJP have become victims of political bankruptcy in the greed for power and today they are neither concerned about the people of the state nor the interests of the state. He said that Jairam Thakur remained asleep while being in power for the last five years and ignored the interests of the state and did not do any work. He said that the BJP did nothing but try to mislead the people of the state by citing the double engine government for the entire five years. He said that the former BJP government did not properly advocate the interests of the state in the court and now they are unnecessarily giving importance to the decisions of the court and are misleading the public. He said that Jai Ram Thakur did not do the work that he should have done in the interest of the people of the state while being the Chief Minister and now he is trying to become the biggest supporter of Himachal Pradesh. Whereas the present state government is making every possible effort to protect the interests of the state and for this a battle is being fought on various fronts.

Awasthi said that even during the disaster, when the entire state government was working at ground zero to help the affected families, the BJP leaders were busy baking political breads. Not only this, when the state government declared the disaster in the state as a national disaster and brought a proposal in the assembly to get a special relief package for the affected families, the BJP MLAs ran away from the house instead of supporting this proposal. He said that Himachal Pradesh has sent claims of Rs 10 thousand crore for the disaster that occurred last year to the Center as per the rules of the Central Government, but the Himachal BJP leaders are trying to stop that too. Whereas the current state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu gave a special relief package of Rs 4500 crore to rehabilitate 23 thousand affected families without the help of the Central Government.

MLA Sanjay Awasthi said that Jairam Thakur and other state BJP leaders are repeatedly going to Delhi and creating obstacles to stop the assistance received from the Center. He said that after the failure of Operation Lotus in Himachal Pradesh, BJP leaders are struggling like fish. In this panic, they are hatching conspiracies to defame the popular Congress government of the state.
