Highlights of the 11th National Ice Hockey Championship

Under the joint auspices of the Ice Hockey Association of India, Ice Hockey of Lahaul Spiti, and Spiti Administration, four matches were organized on the second day of the 11th National Ice Hockey Championship 2024 for the women’s category and 13th National Ice Hockey Championship 2024 for the men’s category from January 19 to January 24. The first match in the men’s category was played between UT Ladakh and Maharashtra, in which UT Ladakh won one-sidedly. 31 goals were scored by UT Ladakh in this match. Whereas the Maharashtra team could not even open its account. The second match was played between Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan in the men’s category in which Himachal Pradesh won thrillingly. The Himachal Pradesh team scored 27 goals. But the Rajasthan team scored zero goals.

The first match in the women’s category was played between ITBP and Himachal Pradesh. But the Himachal Pradesh team could score only one goal whereas ATBP maintained its lead till the last moment by scoring 7 goals and winning. The second match was played between Telangana and Rajasthan in which Telangana scored two goals while the Rajasthan team could not score even a single goal.

SDM Harsh Amarendra Singh Negi said that every match in the championship is becoming very exciting. Along with the local people, tourists are also enjoying the match. The administration is making efforts to provide better facilities to all the players.
