Heavy rains cause devastation in Shimla: MP Suresh Kashyap expressed grief, assured cooperation

Heavy rains during the departure of monsoon in Shimla city of Himachal Pradesh and surrounding areas have caused widespread devastation. 141 mm of rain was recorded in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, on Monday night. This has caused heavy damage in Shimla. The safety wall in front of a 5-storey building collapsed in Panthaghati. This has posed a threat to the house. Sensing the danger, the administration has evacuated the house.

At BCS Shimla, 4 vehicles were hit by landslide and falling of trees. On the other hand, in Panjri, Shimla, more than 8 vehicles parked in the parking lot were damaged due to debris falling in the drain. There was a lot of damage in Ruldu Bhatta as well. There is news of a lot of damage due to landslides at various places in Shimla city.

More than 20 vehicles have been damaged due to landslides, falling trees and debris in different areas of Shimla city. Five vehicles were buried under debris due to a landslide near Himland on Shimla’s Circular Road at night. Due to this, the Circular Road, which is called the lifeline of Shimla, was completely closed for vehicular movement.

Former state president of BJP and MP from Shimla parliamentary constituency Suresh Kashyap has expressed deep grief over this disaster. Expressing condolences to the affected families, he said that this is a time of grief and all the leaders of the BJP party are actively engaged in relief work in the field. Assuring full cooperation, Kashyap said that all possible help will be provided to the disaster-affected areas from the MP fund. The central government is also continuously sending assistance, which includes blankets, tents and other relief materials.

Kashyap said, the state government should immediately provide relief to the affected people. He expressed concern over the devastation in districts like Mandi and Shimla.

On the spot, BJP leaders also took stock of the damaged areas.
