Heavy rain causes traffic disruptions and landslides in suburbs of Shimla

A police official confirmed that the state capital experienced heavy monsoon rainfall last night, disrupting vehicular traffic in the densely populated suburb of Vikasnagar. The downpour also triggered a landslide, causing trees near the petrol pump in Vikasnagar to fall onto the bypass road.

Another landslide occurred on the Mehli–Junga road near Bells Institute, further affecting traffic flow. Restoration teams from the Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department and the Forest Department have been deployed to reopen the roads.
