Harsh Mahajan met Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra: work on improvement of NH to start soon

BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Mahajan met the National Democratic Alliance candidate for the post of Vice President, C.P. Radhakrishnan, congratulated him and wished him all the best for the election.

During the meeting with Radhakrishnan, Harsh Mahajan reiterated his commitment to support him in his election for the post of Vice President. Along with this, Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Mahajan met Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra and discussed in detail about the disaster-prone roads in Himachal. After this, the Union Minister of State issued instructions to the Ministry that the work of repairing all the national highways in Himachal Pradesh should start with immediate effect. The Union Minister of State also said that just as Himachal Pradesh is continuously receiving money for the maintenance of roads, in the same way, money will continue to be released for repairing these roads.

Harsh Mahajan said that while the central government has left no stone unturned for Himachal Pradesh in terms of disaster, the Congress government of the state has done nothing for the people of Himachal Pradesh in times of disaster. In the last three years, the central government has sent Rs 5584 crore for disaster, along with this, the central government has agreed on a project of Rs 2388 crore with the World Bank in the multilateral project category for Himachal. In this, the World Bank will give Rs 2150 crore, the rest of the part will have to be put by the state government. The name of the project is Disaster Recovery and Resilience Strengthening. Mahajan said that the Himachal Pradesh state government has been allocated an amount of Rs 441.60 crore (397.60 crore central share + 44.00 crore state share) for the financial year 2025-2026 under SDRF, of which the first installment of Rs 198.80 crore from the central share has been released to the state. In addition, the Himachal Pradesh state government has declared an opening balance of Rs 81.10 crore available in the state’s SDRF account as on April 1, 2025. Also, Rs 107.15 crore was released from NDRF for flood and landslide of the year 2024.
