Hardworking young workers and women will be given important responsibilities : Vinay Kumar
State Congress President Vinay Kumar has said that the state will soon see a new organization in its current form. This will include the guidance of senior leaders, energetic, hardworking young workers, Women will be given important responsibilities. The party will be strengthened down to the booth level. Addressing a felicitation ceremony held in his honor before assuming office at the state Congress headquarters, Rajiv Bhawan, Vinay Kumar said that after 50 years, Sirmaur district has received the important leadership of the state Congress. Previously, this honor was bestowed upon the state’s first Chief Minister, the late Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar. Expressing his gratitude to the central high command, National President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Rajni Patil, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, all party leaders, and outgoing President Pratibha Singh, he said he will strive to fulfill the party’s hopes and expectations. He added that his father, the late Prem Singh, represented Renuka Ji six times. Now, he too is serving the constituency as an MLA. He said he has learned a great deal from the senior leaders present on the stage, including former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. He declared himself a true soldier of the Congress Party. He assured everyone that he would work with everyone, acting as a liaison between the government and the organization, as well as the common people. He said that the State Congress Committee, along with its executive committees for districts and blocks, would soon be formed. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who attended the event held in his honor.
Earlier, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the three-year tenure of outgoing state president Pratibha Singh was very successful, and now that her tenure has ended, Vinay Kumar has been given the reins. He said that all party leaders are united and working in coordination.
Sukhu said that a panel of six names for the post of State Congress President was presented before the Central High Command and after careful consideration, the High Command finalized the name of Vinay Kumar. He said that it is hoped that Vinay Kumar will further strengthen the organization with his new team.
Sukhu said that on December 11th, in Mandi, Congress will present its vision for the 2027 elections to the people of the state. He assured that Congress will return to power in these elections. He said that every effort is being made to restore the state’s economy, and he is pleased that meaningful results are beginning to emerge. Expressing gratitude to all party leaders and workers who attended the event, he said that the government and the organization have worked together in unity in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that the strong ideology of former Chief Ministers, the late Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar, Thakur Ramlal, and Virbhadra Singh, has kept the Congress party strong in the state. He added that outgoing President Pratibha Singh worked vigorously for the organization during her tenure. Under her leadership, a strong Congress government was formed in the state. Congratulating Vinay Kumar on this new responsibility, he said that the Congress party has a strong legacy in Sirmaur district, and Vinay Kumar will further strengthen it.
Outgoing President Pratibha Singh congratulated Vinay Kumar on this post and expressed hope that he will move forward taking everyone along. She said that during his tenure he visited all the areas of the state and worked for the strengthening of the organization. She said that even today Congress has a strong organization in the state. Advising Vinay Kumar to give important responsibilities to women and youth in the executive of the organization, she said that the elections of municipal bodies and Panchayati Raj institutions are going to be held soon in the state, for which the party will have to make complete preparations from now on. She said that preparations will have to be made from now on for the elections to be held in 2027 also.
MP Rajni Patil, in-charge of state affairs, said that the state has got a new energetic young president. Urging everyone to extend their full support to him, she said that just as former president Pratibha Singh worked for the strengthening of the organization, Vinay Kumar will also move forward and strengthen the organization.

After the ceremony, Pratibha Singh was seated on the chair of the Speaker in the presence of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and senior Congress leaders.
All the leaders also congratulated and wished Vinay Kumar on this occasion.
