Hard work rewarded: Chiyog’s brilliant students take an air tour of Jaipur
Four meritorious girl students of the Government Senior Secondary School for Excellence, Chiyog, were given a five-day educational and tourism tour of Jaipur, Rajasthan, at the Principal’s expense, for their outstanding performance in the 2025-26 academic year. Priyanshi, Sameeksha, Sania, and Gunjan, the overall toppers for their outstanding performance in classes 9th to 12th, were also given the experience of air travel during the tour.
During their stay in Jaipur, the students visited the city’s major historical, cultural, and tourist attractions. Among these were the Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Amer Fort, Jal Mahal, Chaukhi Dhani Museum, Albert Hall Museum, Birla Mandir, and Patrika Gate. Through the tour, the students gained an opportunity to explore Rajasthan’s art, culture, history, and architecture.
Principal Sandeep Sharma explained that he has been running this student-friendly initiative for the past five years, aiming to increase students’ interest in studies and foster a sense of competition, leadership, and hard work. Under this initiative, students who achieve first place in grades 6th through 12th are taken on trips to various cities at his own expense.
He added that in April of this year, meritorious students from grades 6th to 8th were taken on a field trip to various tourist attractions in and around Chandigarh. The Principal believes that such activities, which encourage students’ good performance in class, boost their confidence and eagerness to learn.
The Principal’s parents and the school management committee expressed their gratitude and appreciation for this unique initiative. They said that such initiatives have fostered a spirit of healthy competition among students and have significantly increased their interest in studies.
