Gram Rozgar Sevaks, Silai Adhyapikas and Panchayat chowkidars to be handed over work of Panchayat Secretaries on strike

Director Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Rugved Thakur informed here today that several steps are being taken by the department to deal with the situation arising due to the strike of Panchayat Secretaries of Zila Parishad cadre.

He said that instruction have been given by the department to the Additional Deputy Commissioners cum Chief Executive Officer, Zila Parishad to handover the work of these Panchayat Secretaries to Gram Rozgar Sevaks, Silai Adhyapikas and Panchayat Chowkidars having tenth pass or higher educational qualification with immediate effect to ensure smooth functioning of Gram Panchayats and to provide copies of various certificates like birth-death, marriage, BPL and other Panchayat records to the general public. Further action in this regard has been started in the districts.

Director Panchayati Raj also informed that recently 389 posts of Panchayat Secretaries have been created by the government. The department has started the process for filling up of the vacant posts, to ensure effective execution of Panchayat works. The typing test would be held on 20, 21 and 22 July,2022 by Board of Technical Education, Dharamshala. After the completion of this process, 239 Panchayat Secretaries will be available for appointment in the Panchayats. The recruitment process of newly created 124 and 40 vacant posts of technical assistants will be started soon by the committee constituted under the chairmanship of Sub Divisional Officer (Civil).

Rugved Thakur said that the government is taking effective steps to tackle the situation arisen due to the striking employees, so that the rural people do not face any kind of inconvenience.
