Foundation day of 13 states and union territories celebrated at Raj Bhavan

Realizing the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat”, the foundation day of as many as 13 States including Union Territories was celebrated here at Rajbhavan today.

 Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said that the objective of celebrating these days was to strengthen the spirit of fraternity, integrity, and love for the Nation and memorialize the efforts of the people who strived hard to gain Statehood.  

The practice of celebrating the foundation days of all the States and Union territories has been started in all the other States as well, to better know and understand their history, culture, and customs, said the Governor.

“We may belong to any State, from any community, caste or creed, but we are Indians first and it was essential to sensitize all the sections of the society and spread the message of unanimity and love “, he said.

Lady Governor Janaki Shukla was also present on the occasion.

Colorful cultural programs were also performed depicting the variant culture of states like Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and other states as well. Senior Indian Forest Service Officer from Kerala Ravi Shankar along with his wife Rajisha also gave a scintillating musical performance.

People from States like Andhra Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, and Haryana participated in the program.

Sh. Shukla presented Rs 31,000 each as an incentive to the cultural troupes who presented colorful programs including St. Bedes College, Fine Arts College, Shimla, and Government Senior Secondary School, Lalpani.
