Forest fire in Kinnaur’s Pang -Aakpa
The heatwave and subsequent windstorm in the state gutting number of forests and grass lands as number of fire incidents are reported from various places of Himachal Pradesh. State Disaster management authority spokesperson confirmed that
DEOC Kinnaur informed that a major forest fire broke out in Village Pangi (Tehsil Kalpa ) & Village Aakpa (Tehsil Moorang), District Kinnaur in the state. He said incident have no loss of any kind life or private property so far. Mansa Ram, a Fire officer with his team is on the spot to control the fire. Wind storm at Daunti village of hemlet Kalon in Solan district on Friday evening major fire broke out from high tension (ht) power line around 7 pm. Windstorm caused and short-circuit in the ht power span trigger fire in grass lands. The grass fodder of four families identified as Ramswaroop, Ramchand, Prem and Sant Ram gutred causing loss of tune to Rs one lakh. Local business CD Verma said that rescue and fire control delayed due to frequent short circuit in the HT lines, inclement weather and windstorm. Electricity department was informed to cut the power supply after which fire could brought under control by local people. No fire tenders was deployed on the spots. Farmers who are striving hards to harvest fodders to cattle are now in trouble as their stock of grass for animals have burnt in the fire and they have no left out stock of it, Mr Verma lamented. He demanded that dangling power spans are triggering fire in the grass lands as every hear unsafe and unmaintaned power lines are causing forest fire and grad lands fires. As many as 1200 fire have reported in the state so far due to prolong dry and heatwave.
