Forest Festival celebrated at Keonthal Convent Public School, Junga

The Forest Festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Keonthal Convent Public School, Junga, on Saturday. Students from grades 6 to 10 participated enthusiastically in the event. During the event, the students planted more than 50 trees of various species on vacant land near the school campus and pledged to protect the environment.
School Principal M.K. Sharma provided detailed information to the children about the utility of forests and their conservation. He said that forests not only purify the environment but also play an important role in disaster management and flood control. Forests not only protect wildlife but also provide them with natural shelter. He said that forests provide us with wood for fuel and life-saving herbs from which medicines are made.
In this successful event, Eco Club coordinators Sunita Thakur and Neelam Sharma also gave special support and guided the children.
