Flying Festival to put Junga on the tourism map

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will inaugurate the flying festival to be held in the princely city of Junga adjacent to the capital on October 12. On this occasion, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, Chairman of HP Tourism Development Corporation, and Vice Chairman of HP Tourism Development Board Raghubir Singh Bali will participate as special guests. Let us tell you that the Flying Festival is being organized at The Glide Inn in Junga, where pilots from India and abroad have been coming for the last three years to enjoy paragliding. It should be noted that like Bir Billig, Kawan Valley of Junga is considered to be the most suitable place for paragliding. This festival is being organized under the joint aegis of the District Administration and the Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation.
Tehsildar Junga Ravindra Sisodia and The Glide Inn Managing Director Arun Rawat said that all preparations for the flying festival have been completed. He said that this flying festival will run from 12th to 15th October in which a large number of paragliders from India and abroad will come and enthrall the people by flying in the picturesque valley of Junga. This competition will be based on accuracy, which is being organized for the first time in Junga. Solo and tandem flights of paragliding will be conducted at the festival.
He said that comprehensive security arrangements have been made for this flying festival. During the Flying Festival, presentations by cultural groups of the Language and Culture Department, exhibitions of self-help groups, and food stalls will also be set up. Apart from this, there will also be arrangements for Himachali Dham for the participants participating in the competition. A souvenir will also be released during the festival.
Many people including local residents Pankaj Sen, and Deepak Kumar said that Junga has been a princely state capital but to date, no government has made any efforts to develop this historical place from a tourism point of view. For the first time, a flying festival is going to be held in Junga, due to which it is expected that Junga will also have its own identity on the tourism map. Let us tell you that very little activity is seen in the princely city. There is a small market, yet there is no good hotel or restaurant for tourists to stay, etc. People of Junga tehsil come here only for government work. Apart from a very old forensic lab, Junga has the headquarters of the first police battalion, but to date, Junga has not been given the status of Nagar Panchayat.
It should be noted that there are many tourist places around Junga, apart from the new and old palaces of the Junga state, there is the ancient original temple of the deity Junga in Pujarali. There are many beautiful temples around, each with its own spiritual story. At a short distance from the city, there is also a Buddhist monastery, Shiv Paththar Temple, Pathri Mata Temple, Old Tara Devi Temple, and the famous Sai Temple which complete the spiritual tourism circuit.
