First Armed Police Corps Junga celebrated its 55th Foundation Day with great enthusiasm

The 1st Armed Police Battalion, Junga, celebrated its 55th Raising Day with great enthusiasm and joy on Friday. Various cultural and other programs were organized on the occasion.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (Southern Range) Anjum Ara presided over the ceremony. She first took the salute at the impressive police parade and encouraged the personnel. In her address, Anjum Ara extended her greetings to all police officers and personnel on the occasion of the Foundation Day, emphasizing the need to work with honesty, discipline, and diligence to maintain the police’s values ​​of fearlessness, impartiality, and integrity.
He said that the first Armed Police Battalion, Junga, came into existence on August 7, 1971, after the Indo-Pak war. Since then, the battalion has made significant contributions in the fields of public service, security, and assistance. Praising the battalion’s free coaching for youth preparing for police recruitment, he said that approximately 600 youth are currently being trained here. This is the first battalion in the state to provide free accommodation and food to youth during training. He credited Commandant Bhupendra Singh Negi for this initiative.
Anjum Ara stated that an e-library facility has also been made available on the battalion campus for the youth of the area, which will assist them in preparing for various competitive examinations. She added that events like Foundation Day instill new energy and enthusiasm in the soldiers.
Commander Bhupendra Singh Negi welcomed the chief guest and presented the battalion’s annual administrative report. He stated that 10 computers and a smart TV have been provided in the e-library established for the youth. Furthermore, all the battalion buildings have been renovated, and 26 new lights have been installed on the campus, enhancing both the beauty and security of the battalion campus at night. He also stated that 10 geared bicycles have also been purchased to keep the police personnel physically fit.
On the occasion of the Foundation Day, the police orchestra “Harmony of the Pines” and the brass band team entertained the audience with colorful cultural performances. A cycling race show was also organized.
During the ceremony, the chief guest honored Glide Inn founder Arun Rawat, Chamber of Commerce president Rajesh Kaushal, retired police officers Prakash Chand, Pitambar Dutt, and Darshan Das, as well as the head of a local self-help group, for their outstanding contributions. A banquet was held at the end of the program, attended by police personnel, retired police personnel, their families, and local residents.
