Fire ravages Loha Bhalavag forest, 25 hectares lost

A fierce fire broke out last evening in the Loha and Bhalawg forests of the Junga region, causing damage to precious forest wealth. However, forest department employees and local people are working tirelessly to extinguish the fire. Due to their efforts, the fire that broke out on one side of the forest has been brought under control by creating a fire line. Forest Range Officer Jaswinder Singh said that this area falls under the Chevda forest beat. He said that about 25 hectares of forest have been damaged due to this fierce fire. He said that with the efforts of the local people, the fierce fire in the forest will be extinguished.
The Forest Range Officer explained that during the summer season, some miscreants deliberately set forest fires, which not only destroy the forest’s invaluable wealth but also kill countless animals. Furthermore, the fires have an adverse impact on the environment. He urged rural residents to contribute constructively to forest fire protection. He also urged the public to keep a close watch on these miscreants.
Forest Division Officer Veena Kashyap, Forest Guard Kushal Sharma, Labbu Ram, Sunil Kumar and all the forest friends of Koti Range are engaged in extinguishing the fire.
