Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi praised the culture and supernatural beauty of district Kinnaur said that tribal district Kinnaur is full of nature’s beauty. District Kinnaur is famous worldwide for its rich culture, costumes, catering and guarding. People here despite having difficult life, people have simplicity and humility as well as respect for everyone which makes district Kinnaur different from other districts. He said that even after this changing environment today, the people of Kinnaur district are connected to their original culture and maintaining their cultural heritage and customs.
Tribal Development Minister Jagat Singh said the state government is committed to preserving the state’s rich culture especially the culture of the tribal regions and continuously strives to promote culture. In addition to this, necessary steps are being taken to promote horticulture in tribal districts. They called on the district farmers and gardeners to learn the latest technology farming so farmers and gardeners could double their income. Farmers and gardeners are being trained on the latest techniques and equipment by the Horticulture Department conducting camps timely.
Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi said the current state government is committed to providing the right of land to neglected classes through the Forest Rights Act-2006 and has ordered authorities to implement following the instructions in this direction. Also Right to Information Act- 2005, MNREGA Act-2005 and Nine-Breaking Act-1968 are also a gift from the then Congress government which has empowered the deprived sections.
On the occasion, the Chief Guest also observed the exhibitions organized by various departments and also launched various sports competitions being organized during the festival.
District level Shahnai playing competition was organized in the first day of the state level Kinnaur Festival to promote Shahnai playing in the district and prevent it from extinction.
Deputy Commissioner Kinnaur and President Fair Committee Kinnaur Dr. Amit Kumar Sharma welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries with souvenirs and letters and expressed gratitude for attending the festival. He also informed the attendees about the activities happening during the festival.
During this time Saraswati Vandana was also presented by the students of Pinewood Public School.
On the first day of the fair, mountain sandhya, Kinnauri sandhya and the first cultural evening was organized in which other famous artists of the district Kinnaur and the state gave their presentation.
On this occasion, the wife of Revenue Minister Sushila Devi, Director of Himachal Pradesh Co-operative Bank Bikram Singh, A. P. M. CK Director Umesh Negi, District Women Congress President Saroj Negi, Deputy Commissioner Kalpa Dr. Major Shashank Gupta along with Congress party officials, representatives of Panchayati Raj organizations along with other officers and employees were present.
