* SS Jogata presented the figures regarding the condition of the schools.

Releasing the statistics of schools in Himachal Pradesh, SS Jogta said that during the last four and a half years, during the rule of the BJP government, the lock of more than 500 schools in the state has been hanged. If we talk about the new academic session 2022-23, so far 153 government schools have been locked. Out of this, maximum 39 schools have been closed in Shimla district. While 30 schools in Kangra and 26 in Mandi have been closed. Apart from this, there are dozens of such schools in all the districts of the state. He said that according to the U DISE 2019-21 report, there are total 18,145 schools in the state, out of which 10,574 are primary schools and 1,948 are middle schools. The condition of 4,096 primary schools in these schools is poor.

* The confidence of the parents about the poor education system of the state is being lost from the government education.*

Jogata said that this is the reason why 23,030 students have fallen short of government schools in the year 2019-20. This drop out is happening continuously in government schools since the year 2017. The enrollment in government schools in the state from class I to class XII in the year 2017-18 was 8 lakh 54 thousand 879. In the year 2018-19, this figure has come down to 8 lakh 24 thousand 73 and now in the year 2019-20 this figure has come down to 8 lakh 1 thousand 43. That is, 23 thousand 30 students have decreased in government schools. He said that

There is a lot of inconvenience in the schools of the state. According to the latest data, 722 schools in the state are running with the help of only one room. In 3056 schools, only two rooms are running. Only 3 rooms are available in 5,177 schools, so the education system is on ventilator. Similarly, there is a severe shortage of teachers in government schools with only one student in 2,507 schools. There are only two teachers in 6,479 primary and 378 middle schools.

There are three teachers in 1573 primary and 746 middle schools. Which raises questions on the government’s neglect on government schools. The answer to which is now being given by the people of the state under the Selfie with School campaign of the Aam Aadmi Party.
