Economic bankruptcy in the state, government is creating pressure through officers: Jamwal

BJP leader and MLA Trilok Jamwal said that since the Congress government has been formed in the state for about two and a quarter years, from the very first day this government has been doing financial mismanagement, due to which the financial condition of the state has become very fragile. Today Himachal Pradesh is completely in debt, the debt on Himachal Pradesh has gone up to more than one lakh crore and the present government has taken a loan of more than 30 thousand crores in just two years of its tenure. This year all the loans were over, then this government called for all the money that was deposited in various issues in its state treasury and that too in the state treasury under the miscellaneous head and is dispersing it as per its will, which shows the financial condition of the state. The state government issues a letter on 14 February 2025 under which general guidelines are sent to all land officers and submitted to all land action officers through the director treasury and see how fast this government is working for this work. The letter is issued on the 14th and on the same day banks are given directions that whatever money you have should be deposited in the state treasury today and that money is deposited in the treasury on the same scheduled date. This is the mechanism of government pressure of the Congress government.

I had said earlier also that some Congress leaders had also given their reaction on this and they had said that this is the state’s money, this is the Indian Railway’s money which has come to the Land Acquisition Collector because in any state when the Railway finalizes its project and submits it, land acquisition is mandatory in it. So the state government first asks for the Railway’s money from the center to distribute it to the land giver. First the center tells how much money is to be given in the center’s account first and only then the notification is issued, this is the procedure and under that procedure the central government had deposited 75 crore rupees to the Himachal Pradesh government for bringing this Bhanupalli railway line under control.

Under this process, more than 900 crores were sent from the Centre to the banks of Himachal. Out of that 975 crores, around 500 crores were transferred to the beneficiaries, but the Rs 475 crore of the beneficiaries of Bilaspur which was lying in our various banks was immediately deposited in the state treasury by each bank after the notification of 14 February 2025. I have a letter from ICICI Bank in which one crore has been transferred, this is a letter from HDFC written by the Land Action Collector and Rs 200 crore has been transferred from it. This is a letter from the Cooperative Bank under which HP State Cooperative Bank Bilaspur has returned Rs 31 crore. I also have the letter of Canara Bank, which was sent by the government office under which around 475 to 500 crores of Bilaspur Railway was deposited in the treasury and Bilaspur Railway because the Land Acquisition Collector sent this letter to the banks on 14th February itself and transferred the money. Trilok Jamal also read out this letter in front of the media.

In the letter, Himachal Pradesh Treasury in Seat Head No. 1052, the account of Himachal Pradesh Treasury, was asked to transfer the miscellaneous money to, and by putting pressure on the banks, the transfer was done from the banks in a single day.
