DPS Shimla organised an inter-school poetry recitation competition called ‘Eloquence’; young talents gave powerful expression to words

Delhi Public School, Shimla, hosted an inter-school poetry recitation competition titled “Eloquence – Where Words Find Their Voice.” Students from Nursery to Class VI wowed everyone with their creativity, confidence, and impressive expression at this literary event.

National Award-winning filmmaker and storyteller Vivek Mohan Sharma, senior Bishop Cotton School teacher and Cambridge academician Pratima Wilson, and Cambridge academician and historian Ashur Wilson were the chief guests at the event. School Principal Veena Chauhan extended a warm welcome to all the guests.

The students in the competition presented impressive poetry recitations on a variety of themes, including patriotism, compassion, humor, imagination, peace, discipline, and human values. Their clear diction, confident stage presentation, and deep understanding of literature made the event a memorable celebration of poetry and creative expression.

In their address, the chief guests appreciated the talent and confidence of the students and inspired them to use the power of language positively, develop creative thinking, establish effective communication and make meaningful contributions to the society.

A special highlight of the program was an interactive session for primary school parents, conducted by renowned psychologist Dr. Shalini Dhadwal. She shared her insights on positive parenting, effective communication, and children’s emotional well-being, providing parents with practical and useful tips for their children’s overall development.

The successful organization of the program was the result of the collective cooperation and dedication of students, teachers, and parents. Under the visionary leadership of Principal Veena Chauhan, Delhi Public School, Shimla, continues to provide creative platforms that inspire students to become confident speakers, sensitive citizens, logical thinkers, and capable leaders of the future.
