District Disaster Management Authority Concludes Workshop on Structural Safety Audits
The three-day workshop on Structural Safety Audits, organized by the District Disaster Management Authority, concluded today. The event focused on providing crucial insights into building security inspections and safe construction practices. Experts from Tata Steel, ACC, Ambuja, and other key industry players in paints and plumbing shared their knowledge with the participating engineers and departmental representatives from various sectors.
Attendees included engineers from Lok Nigam, Jal Shakti, Nagar & Gram Yojana, Bharat Communication Corporation Limited, municipal bodies, rural development authorities, and representatives from the education and health departments. The workshop, held at Circuit House Mandi, aimed to train these professionals on modern safety protocols.
The closing ceremony was presided over by the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mandi, who emphasized the importance of applying the knowledge gained beyond the confines of the workshop. He stressed that such training sessions empower participants to face evolving challenges and hoped this particular workshop would enhance preparedness for earthquake-resistant construction.
Professor Dr. Hemant Kumar Vinayak from NIT Hamirpur provided an in-depth session on building non-engineered structures that can withstand earthquakes. At the end of the workshop, the Additional Deputy Commissioner honored all participants for their active involvement and commitment to the cause.
