Discussion and Book Launch Event on Publications of Indian Institute of Advanced Study Concludes at World Book Fair
Six new publications by the Indian Institute of Advanced Study were launched and two books were discussed at the World Book Fair today.
The nine-day World Book Fair commenced today at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, where the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla, has also set up an exhibition of its publications, as it does every year. Today, the Institute launched six new publications and organized a discussion and deliberation on two books.
Three of the launched books are based on research projects by former fellows of the Institute, and two are based on research papers presented at national seminars organized by the Institute.

- Significance of Optimality Theory in Phonological Questions and Assessment and Intervention of Phonological Disorder (Author: Dr. Lalita Raja)
- Knowledge and Subject: Situating Ayurveda Theory Life Narratives of Practitioners (Author: Dr. Girija K.P.)
- 75 Years of Indian Economy and Polity: A Way Forward in Amrit Kaal (Editor: Dr. Priyesh C.A.)
Following the book launch, Dr. Pankaj Singh led a discussion on Professor Ravinder Singh’s book “Understanding Punjab: A Geo-Cultural Civilizational and Literary Context” and the book “जीवन का तट: उत्तर भारत की नदियां एवं निषाद जीवन,” edited by Dr. Ramashankar.
The event was presided over by Professor Raghavendra Prasad Tiwari, Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, and Director of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla. In his address, he congratulated the authors and editors of the books and stated that these publications by the Institute would prove to be milestones in the field of advanced research. The event was attended by former fellows of the Institute and other scholars.
Mr. Mehar Chand Negi, Secretary of the Institute, delivered the welcome address and introductory remarks. Mr. Akhilesh Pathak, Public Relations Officer of the Institute, conducted the proceedings and delivered the vote of thanks.
