Death toll in hooch tragedy in Mandi increased to five

Death toll in hooch tragedy occurred  in Salapar area under sundarnagar sub-division of Mandi district increased to five as two seriously sick scummbed  in Medical College Nerchowk at Sundernagar today, senior police officer confirmed.
SP Mandi Ms. Shalini Agnihotri said five persons who had consumed superious alcoholic drink last night died and two others who fell sick are being undertreatment at Sundernagar civil hospital.
She said that seven people who consumed spourious liquor last night rushed to hospital immediately as they fell ill out of which five declared dead and two sick were being treated at Civil Hospital Sundernagar. 
She said that a probe would be conducted on the mishap as victims complainant that spurious liquor was bought from any vendor but illegally sold to them by the liquor mafia who had smuggled it from outside the state.
She said that victims said that after buying it from a person at night they consumed it homeand their health started deteriorating. 
Alll of them have taken to hospital with immediate effectwhere three confirmed dead so far.  
While the condition of rest four is reported critical being given treatment at Civil Hospital Sundernagar and Medical College, Ner Chowk.  
She said that police investigation in the matter has been started after this incident huge resentment were found \among the people of Salapar area against the liquor mafia which are flourishing for some time. 
 Satish Kumar, former chairman of the Panchayat Samiti, said that the liquor mafia has been active in thearea for a long time. Illicit liquor is being pedal from the outside and sold to people in alurment of cheapprices. . He demanded the administration to take strict action on the illicit liquor mafia.
