Today in Himachal Pradesh, 39 thousand total road length is available to the public and if seen in this, 20 thousand kilometers of roads have been built under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, if there was no Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, more than 50% panchayats would not have been connected with the roads today. Jairam said that today I am proud that the way the work of four-lane is going on in Himachal Pradesh is beyond imagination, the speed at which this work is being done is going to give a lot of boost to the development and tourism of Himachal Pradesh.
If we talk about the National Highway from Kiratpur to Manali, then work has been done in several phases under it. The total length of this project will be 159.38 km and the total cost of this historic project is going to be 10343 crores. Due to this, the length of this route has decreased by 49 kilometers and this will save about five and a half hours for the public.
He said that under this project, the total length of Kiratpur to Ner Chowk is 84.38 km, on which 3000 crore has been spent, similarly the total length from Ner Chowk to Pandoh is 27 km and its cost will be 1500 crore, Pandoh to Takoli total length 19 The total length of Takoli to Kullu is 29 km and it will cost 1400 crore and the total length of Kullu to Manali is 37.3 km and it will cost 743 crore.
In terms of length and time, Kiratpur to Ner Chowk will be 37 kms 3 hours, Ner Chowk to Pandoh 27 kms 1 hour, Pandoh to Takoli 5 kms 1 hour and Takoli to Kullu 2 kms less than half an hour.
Jairam Thakur said that with the construction of this four-lane International Direct Route Manali would be of great benefit, the movement of patients coming to AIIMS would be faster and traffic congestion near ACC Cement Plant would be reduced.
He said that the tunnel that will be built on this National Highway will be a major attraction for the tourists. Today, tourists from all over the world come to see the Atal Tunnel, for this the National Highway Authority of India is also working.
He said that for the inauguration of this historic project, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi that it would be a matter of great fortune for us if he inaugurate this project.
Three parts of this project will be inaugurated, the total cost of which will be only 8100 crores.
