CM Sukhu among India’s 100 most powerful personalities of India by The Indian Express newspaper
The prestigious newspaper ‘The Indian Express’ has included Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in its list of the 100 most powerful personalities of India. He has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to social service and the State’s green energy initiatives.
The newspaper specifically praised his initiative under the Mukhyamantri Sukh-Aashray Yojana, which grants orphaned children the status of ‘Children of the State’. Additionally, historic increase in the support price of milk, restoration of the old pension scheme for 1.36 lakh government employees, and the substantive rise in per capita income under his leadership have been highlighted as remarkable achievements.
The Chief Minister’s efforts to promote sectors like solar energy, green hydrogen, and food processing have also been acknowledged. Notably, the proposed 200 MW solar energy project in Kangra district has been cited as an example of his visionary approach.
The newspaper noted that Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s journey to the top, despite having no political background, is a testament to his strong determination and leadership. The report also mentioned his government’s upcoming plans to take strict action against drug cartels.
This prestigious list also includes Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Party President Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi among other prominent figures.
