CM and friends laid foundation of a building of Bulk Drug Park, but the Central Dept Minister was not informed: Satti
former state president of BJP and MLA Satpal Satti said that the foundation stone of the bulk drug park to be built in Haroli was laid by the Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi on 13 October 2022. The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of the state inaugurated one of its buildings and a road again and the Central Government’s minister of the same department JP Nadda was neither invited nor informed about it. This is very unfortunate and cheap politics.
He said that local MP Anurag Thakur, who has played a major role in getting this bulk drug park approved, was also not taken into confidence. Baddi Barotiwala is the biggest hub of pharma sector not only in the country but also in Asia. But it is the misfortune of our country that about 85% of the raw material (API) for the pharma sector of our country comes from abroad and out of this, we import about 80% from China. Our Prime Minister and the BJP government at the Center understood this problem because this situation became even more serious during the Covid period. Therefore, in July 2020, the Government of India took a historic decision to build three bulk drug parks in the country to end the pharma sector’s dependence on other countries for raw material. The only proposal for this bulk drug park sent by the then BJP government led by Jairam Thakur to the Central Government was of Haroli in Una district. The state government put its side strongly before the Center. BJP National President and Union Minister Shri JP Nadda and the then Union Minister Anurag Thakur made every effort to get this project approved for Himachal. On 30 August, the Central Government gave in-principle approval to this drug park to be built in Haroli, Himachal and on 11 October 2022, the DPR prepared by the BJP government of Himachal also got final approval. On 13 October 2022, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi himself came to Una and laid the foundation stone of one of the three bulk drug parks to be built in India. Modiji not only laid the foundation stone but also sent Rs 225 crore to the state for this bulk drug park about one and a half years ago despite the change of power in the state. The Congress government of the state has not approved even a single rupee for this project since it was formed. But today the level of politics has fallen so much that the Congress leaders who were opposing the bulk drug park being given by the Modi government and were sending their workers to the state’s High Court to stop this project, are today the same leaders trying to take false credit for this gift given by the double engine government of BJP. Is it not true that the Harish Kumar and Rajinder Kumar who filed a case in the High Court to stop this project, are not Congress workers? Didn’t Mukesh Agnihotri go to Harish Kumar’s house and felicitate him for this feat? Wasn’t the lawyer who advocated the case of Harish Kumar and Rajinder Kumar in the High Court to stop the bulk drug park, rewarded by making him the Advocate General of the state as soon as the Congress government was formed in the state? Didn’t this same lawyer say in the court that bears live in the forests of Poliya? If this bulk drug park is built, where will the bears go? Today the same Congress leaders are trying to become the biggest champions of this bulk drug park by changing their colours like chameleons. But everyone knows who said what and did what?
