Cheelwahal-Lahad-Masiyana accident, Home Guard team displayed indomitable courage
During the relief and rescue work at the under-construction bridge accident at Cheelwahal-Lahad-Masiyana, Himachal Pradesh Home Guard Force Commander Mr. Ashok Rangra and his team displayed indomitable courage, promptness and human compassion and played an important role in saving the lives of five labourers without caring for their own lives.
Despite the severity of the accident, the courage and dedication shown by the Home Guard personnel in the rescue operation is commendable. Evacuating the workers safely under adverse conditions without fear for their own safety demonstrates their dedication, bravery, and devotion to duty.
Shri Rajiv Rana, Member of State Backward Classes Commission and Secretary Rank, Himachal Pradesh Government, who reached the spot immediately after receiving information about the incident and took stock of the relief and rescue operations, said that the courage displayed by Home Guard Force Commander Shri Ashok Rangra and his team in the hour of crisis is inspiring for the society and the state.
He said that it is essential to boost the morale of such hardworking and courageous officers and soldiers. He urged the Honorable Chief Minister, Mr. Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, to honor Home Guard Commander Mr. Ashok Rangda and his team involved in the rescue operation with appropriate recognition at the state level, so that their courage, service, and dedication can be encouraged.
Rajiv Rana said that while the loss of a worker in this accident is a matter of grief, the promptness of the rescue and relief teams has saved many precious lives. Expressing his deepest condolences to the family of the deceased worker, he prayed to God for the departed soul to rest in peace and for the family to bear this irreparable loss.
He said that the true meaning of public service is to stand with the needy in times of crisis, and the Home Guard jawans have realised this spirit with their courage and spirit of service.
