CEO take stock of byelection preparedness in Himachal

Chief Electoral Officer Himachal Pradesh C. Palrasu today reviewed the preparations regarding the by-election in 65-Jubbal Kotkhai constituency of Himachal with sector officers and nodal officers at Panchayat Samiti Hall Jubbal.
 He directed the District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Shimla Aditya Negi to ensure the availability of necessary basic facilities at all the 136 polling stations of 65-Jubbal Kotkhai Assembly Constituency as per the instructions issued by the Election Commission of India.  
He said that under these facilities, it is necessary to have toilets, drinking water, sanitation, proper electricity and facilities for the differently-abled at the polling stations.
  He also gave necessary directions to the officials to ensure successful election process.
 C. Palrasu said that the officers should work to ensure the participation of all voters in the election process for cent percent voting. 
 He said that for this, it is necessary to organize activities to provide information and awareness to the voters before voting under sweep activities.
 He said that as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, voters above 80 years of age, disabled voters, Kovid-19 positive voters, if they want, they can use postal ballot papers. He instructed that it is necessary to make sure arrangements in this regard.

 He said that training is essential for a flawless election process.  In this context, it is necessary to give intensive training to all the officers and employees involved in the election process.
 C. Palrasu also gave necessary guidelines regarding free and fair election process and voting and counting of votes.
 He inspected the inter-state Kudu barrier and got information regarding the movement, inspection and investigation of vehicles. He also directed all the sector officers to ensure compliance of the Kovid-19 Standard Operating Procedure.  
He said that it is necessary to ensure the availability of sanitizers, masks at the polling stations.  Apart from this, it is necessary to work towards maintaining social distance and making masks mandatory. 
 He also inspected various polling stations, counting centers.  Regarding the security arrangements, he directed the Superintendent of Police Dr.Monica Bhantugaru to provide detailed information to him .  

District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Shimla Aditya Negi informed that one for Divyangjan, two for women and one model polling station has also been set up in 65-Jubbal Kotkhai constituency. 
 It may be mentioned that for Divyangjans in Nihan, women polling stations at Gaihar and Jubbal and Adarsh ​​polling stations have been set up.
 Various sector officers, flying squad in-charge and static surveillance teams were also present on the occasion.
