Central and State governments have no control over construction companies : Dr. Tanwar
The central government and the state government have no control over the outside companies working on various major projects in Himachal Pradesh. The companies involved in the construction of the four-lane and other projects have become completely unbridled. This allegation was made by Dr. Kuldeep Tanwar, state president of the Himachal Kisan Sabha, in a statement issued on Monday. He said that on January 19, the Kisan Sabha will organize a foot march to the Secretariat in Shimla regarding the four-lane and eviction issues, in which thousands of families affected by the four-lane and eviction will participate.
Dr. Tanwar stated that the four-lane road from Kethlighat to Mehli Dhali is affecting the residents of nine panchayats. Gawar Construction and Bharat Construction are disregarding public interests, posing a threat to residential homes, private land, and water sources. The Union Ministry of Surface Transport and state governments have completely failed to protect public interests from construction companies. Last year, during the monsoon season, widow Ranjana Verma’s six-story house collapsed due to the four-lane road, with the administration estimating the damage at approximately ₹5 crore (approximately ₹5 crore). Sadly, she has not received a single penny from the company.
Dr. Tanwar alleged that construction companies are not complying with the Geological Survey of India’s requirements, which is affecting families along the four-lane road and putting many homes at risk. He urged affected families to participate in the foot march on January 19th so that the issue can be effectively raised with the state government.
