CBSE Announces 2025 Board Exam Dates for Classes 10 and 12

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the date sheet for the 2025 Class 10 and Class 12 board exams, set to begin on February 15, 2025. This year, the board has taken a proactive step by issuing the schedule 86 days in advance, providing students and schools with more preparation time than ever before.

Exam Highlights

Class 10: The exams will start with English as the first subject.

Class 12: The first paper will be Entrepreneurship.
This early release, coming 23 days sooner than last year, was made possible due to the timely submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) by schools, as noted in CBSE’s announcement.

Practical Exam Details

The board has also outlined the schedule for practical exams:

Class 10 Practical Exams: To commence on January 1, 2025, conducted by school teachers.

Class 12 Practical Exams: To begin on February 15, 2025, under the supervision of external examiners visiting schools.
CBSE has reiterated the division of marks across theory, practicals, projects, and internal assessments, ensuring clarity for students and educators.

A Student-Centric Approach

CBSE’s earlier release of the date sheet and guidelines is aimed at reducing stress for students and giving them sufficient time to plan their studies. This streamlined approach also allows schools to organize practical exams and other preparations without last-minute rushes.
